The strikes came ahead of a visit to Tel Aviv by new U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell to promote a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and push for Mideast peace.
After a meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo on Wednesday, Mitchell said it is of "critical importance" that Gaza ceasefire be "extended and consolidated".
The Tel Aviv regime claimed the attack was a response to Tuesday's roadside bomb near the border with Gaza which killed an Israeli soldier.
Israel and Hamas declared ceasefires on January 17 and 18.
Israel's three-week ruthless attack on Gaza killed about 1,300 Palestinians, including 400 children.
According to the Amnesty International and UN experts Israel’s war on Gaza constitute concrete examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
